Cautions When Using the STAIRS/Appeals Process
Note the following about submitting a case in STAIRS to report a testing incident:
- Testing incidents for the Summative ELPAC and Initial ELPAC are submitted at the domain level. Testing incidents for CAASPP, the Summative Alternate ELPAC, and the Initial Alternate ELPAC are submitted at the test-type level.
- Coordinators can identify only one ELPAC domain per submittal and must use the STAIRS/Appeals process to file a separate incident case for each domain. Incidents cannot be combined.
- Coordinators can identify only one CAASPP or ELPAC grade level and assessment per submittal and must use the STAIRS/Appeals process to file a separate incident case for each grade level and assessment. Incidents cannot be combined.
- Coordinators should check with the email administrator and ensure that emails can be received from ca-assessments@ets.org. STAIRS email confirmations should be received within two hours of submittal.
- Refer to the Allowlisting URLs for Online Testing section of the Technical Specifications and Configuration Guide for Online Testing for a complete list of URLs that should be allowlisted by the network’s firewalls.
