Administrations: Overview
Use the administration screens in TOMS to define or view start and end dates during which the CAASPP and ELPAC can be administered for the LEA.
Each CAASPP assessment has its own set of administration rules. TOMS is programmed to calculate the testing window for each assessment on the basis of the LEA’s test administration year, the first day and last day of school, and a comprehensive list of the noninstructional days.
The CAASPP requires the setting up of an administration calendar. The assignment of each school site to an administration is a prerequisite for CAASPP test administration. The ELPAC has a set testing window for LEAs, so there is no need to set up an administration calendar for the ELPAC. Because the use of the Test Administrations feature in TOMS is different for the two assessment programs, this chapter provides information for each program in separate sections:
- Test Administrations for the CAASPP—How to view, edit, or create an administration calendar for CAASPP assessments (This section also provides information about how to assign a previously created administration to a school.)
- Test Administrations for the ELPAC—How to view the administration calendar for ELPAC assessments
- CAASPP School Administration Summary—How to view the school administration summary for a CAASPP assessment
- ELPAC School Administration Summary—How to view the school administration summary for an ELPAC assessment
